Peace of mind, labour savings, and healthier, more productive livestock
Essential minerals like copper, zinc, magnesium, and anti-bloat supplements are critical for maintaining livestock health and productivity, particularly for dairy cows. During high-risk periods, such as the facial eczema season (January to March), zinc will protect stock from the toxins that can destroy the liver.
Traditionally, farmers have relied on incorporating minerals into supplementary feed, drenching, or manually adding minerals to drinking troughs in paddocks. However, such approaches are often time-consuming, labour-intensive, costly, and wasteful, and can lead to inconsistent distribution.
Consistent, precise, and proportional supplementation
Inline dispensers, like MixRite’s hydraulic dosing pumps, have transformed this process. They offer a precise, efficient, and automated solution.
Installed on the main water line feeding drinking troughs, MixRite inline dosing systems ensure accurate and consistent dosages, eliminating manual guesswork and labour. Each drop of soluble additive like zinc, magnesium, copper, anti-bloat formulas, antibiotics, probiotics, enzymes, and even vaccinations dispensed to the water supply is a carefully measured dose. Animals receive the right treatment at the right time.
Our nonelectric pumps ensure dosages are consistent, regardless of changes in flow or pressure. Keep stock healthy, stress-free and in prime condition in all weather or pasture conditions.
Absolute control of treatments through drinking water
- Precision dosage: MixRite pumps deliver exact amounts of supplements and medications, ensuring every animal receives the right treatment. Dispensers dose proportionally. Regardless of whether a trough is filling from empty, is topping off on a ballcock, or another trough is added, the percentage of materials in the water supply remains the same.
- Labour savings: Focus can shift to other tasks knowing livestock health is maintained.
- Adaptability across livestock: These systems work for a variety of animals, including cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, deer, and goats.
- Resilience: During drought, lush pasture seasons, or facial eczema periods, MixRite inline dosing systems consistently deliver.
- No power: The hydraulic design means no external power or water meters.
- High-pressure option: Handles pressures up to 14 bar.
- Durability: Built to last and comes with a 12-month warranty.
Best practices for inline dosing systems
For optimal performance, MixRite dosing pumps should be installed above a 200-litre drum of pre-mixed mineral solutions. This ensures a steady supply of nutrients to livestock throughout the day. To protect the pump from running dry – a situation that could damage the suction seals – a ball-cock feed at the bottom ¼ of the drum can maintain a minimum water level, protecting the pump.
Off-site notifications
Remote monitoring and alerts are a game-changer for farmers. At MixRite, we took innovation a step further with our TF/SMS-4 dosing pump. 4G cellular remote control provides real-time monitoring and alerts via text message.
Alerts will notify if the drum is about to run dry, the pump is running but not drawing properly or there’s a potential water reticulation leak. Ideal for farmers who cannot always be on-site.
